From the deep south of the sub-continent comes this dark roasted, full bodied curry.   Mrs Rajapakse shares her recipe with you and says "it is the one curry that kept my teenagers home for dinner on the weekends and now that they have all grown up nothing has changed!"

  • 2 kg beef / lamb / chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon plain yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind paste (or juice of 1 lemon)
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
  • 2 chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
